Off Sohna-Gurgaon Road, Gurgaon, Haryana, India

“So close and yet so far’ is how best I would describe this charming resort – just on the outskirts of Delhi and yet we had to pass through an actual village, fields and herds of cows to get there. We felt so disconnected and distant from Delhi – the perfect weekend getaway! A baby of the luxurious Taj group, the adventure zone would be reason enough for me to return here with my family – ATV biking anyone? And the irony of it all is that we never found the time to make our way to the nearby Damdama Lake (though I believe it’s hardly a lake anymore) – always the sign of a successful staycation!

Family Favourites:
  1. The very family-friendly adventure zone at this resort was fantastic, with something for everyone. With an extensive playground and bikes for toddlers to the Burma Bridge for the fit, no one wanted to leave. Over weekends, they bring in additional activities like pottery, horse riding, camel riding and more. Some of the activities we tried were:
    • Ziplining
    • Rock Climbing
    • Archery
    • Burma Bridge
    • ATV Biking
    • Paintball
    • Cycling
  2. The resort also comes with a cricket pitch, football field, tennis court, putting green and more.
  3. The children reveled in the kids’ club with an attached playground, limited toys, air hockey, table tennis and carom. Plus an X Box console that my older one was thrilled with!
  4. Buzz, their all day diner was rather disappointing, both in taste and quality. The Chinese restaurant Sian, on the other hand, was very good and we had most of our meals there.
  5. Art! Fall in love with the sculptures made from recycled scrap all over the resort. A peacock made from an old bike engine and metal ladles was my favourite!
  6. Kid-friendly DVDs for complimentary rental.

Mandy’s Tip: Score a ground floor room from where the kids can roll right into the resort’s lush greens. I visited in the peak of summer and the resort was still unbelievably lush!
